Jaywalker is 3,000 square feet of industrial-yet-cozy, designed by creative agency Contagious to feel distinctly Brooklyn: oversized murals, leather banquettes, velvet upholstery, raw industrial textures, and a state-of-the-art sound system. Before the doors opened on June 11, here’s what the room looked like.

What does the space look like?
The main room runs on contrast: white brick and steel-framed factory windows against saturated leather and commissioned street art. The mural above the banquettes — a graffiti-tagged New York streetscape — sets the tone for a bar that calls itself an ode to the city’s artists and rebels. Layouts adapt by night, from cocktail service to watch parties to live sets.

The backbar is the altar: a brass-framed, glowing display of the full New York Distilling portfolio, with the copper stills visible just beyond the glass. This is still a working distillery — the bar just makes it somewhere you’d rather not leave.
The room is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 4pm–12am — at 573 Johnson Ave. See what’s happening, or just walk in.
